WESTERN CANADA FALL POULTRY, PIGEON AND RABBIT
SHOW AND SALE WEEKEND

Presented by
Three Old Hens Productions

We would like to present our first annual APA/APA sanctioned show. It is our intention to offer events in Alberta in support of the hobby and sport of poultry, pigeons, rabbits and other farm animal based interests. We are offering a number of events during this weekend, including championship shows, sales booths for exhibitors and vendors, commercial and informational booths. We are very pleased to have Dr. Delores Peters, Alberta Provincial Poultry vet, present and available to answer questions. Dr Peters will be focusing on Marek’s,  ILT and other diseases, healthy immune systems, vaccination protocols, management, testing, provincial regulations and other aspects concerning the small flock owner.

We also extend an invitation to our Friday Meet and Greet, 6pm. We will bring out refreshments and treats to the show cage area to give you a well deserved break. Saturday will feature show judging, the Silent Auction (concludes Sunday), and finally the awards banquet at TJ’s Bistro and Grill in Wetaskiwin.

Our judging panel is exemplary and we have exhibitors from across western Canada calling to let us know they plan to attend. Mix this with the volunteers and enthusiasts who will be there and we know this will be an amazing event. So, welcome and we will see you there!

Poultry Sales Booths

Where better to buy top quality breeding stock than at a show?
Where better to sell your top quality birds than at a show?

Breeders, enthusiasts, acreage flock owners and first timers are ready for this great sales opportunity. We have a very limited number of sales booths available to our poultry show exhibitors. Booths are approximately 8 feet deep with 16 feet linear feet of cage display space. Tables and skirting with show cages (Bantam and Standard) for displaying your purebred birds are provided. The booths will be located beside the Poultry Show. This sale is primarily set up for chickens and bantam ducks, however if you wish to bring quail, large ducks, geese or turkeys, arrangements can be made.

To qualify for a sales booth you must have at least 10 birds entered and showing at the poultry show, you must have a safe secure place/trailer/vehicle to keep birds that do not have space in the booth. A maximum number of birds per cage will be allowed. Excess birds may be brought in as the birds in your booth sell and are removed.  Birds showing any sign of illness / contagious disease or parasites will not be allowed in the building. The sale runs Friday evening (optional) for fellow exhibitors, and Saturday/Sunday for the public.

If you are interested in a booth please contact Liz Munro for availability and prices at 403-347-9106

We will have ~FOR SALE~ cage tags available for any entered birds that you would like to sell. Which birds to keep/sell? Bring’em all, let the judge sort it out!

You may place For Sale tags on the cages of any of your  entered bird that you wish to sell Put your cell number and name on the tag and just wait for the buyers to call! Tags will not be visible during judging.

Vendor Sales Booths

Do you have a product that is ideal for the animal enthusiast?
Wonderful art or crafts you would like to show the world?

We have a limited number of vendor or commercial sales booths available. The booth will consist of a 10 foot by 6 foot space, an 8 foot table, skirting and chairs. Electrical may not be available or limited.
We won’t allow overly similar booths, so you will be the only one with your product!

We are expecting well in excess of 1000 visitors to the show.
This is an excellent opportunity to display your product and generate great sales!

If you are interested in a booth please contact Liz Munro for availability and prices at 403-347-9106

EGG SHOW

An entry consists of at least 6 eggs, no more than 12 (*Emu, Rhea and Ostrich entries are 1- 3 eggs*) presented in an egg carton or small basket. Eggs are judged as to consistency of size, shape and colour. Eggs should be clean, free of flaws, showing colour and luster as per the breed/species, consistent in size, and correct size for the breed/species. An identification card will be filled in with the breed/species that laid the entry, plus Bantam or Standard size when applicable. Named Hybrids, ie Miss Pepperpots/Speckeldys, will be similarly labeled by name and Bantam or Standard. These cards will be with the entry for the judge to see during judging. There is no "Best Overall" award. Chicken eggs MIGHT be cracked open (one egg opened per entry). Once judging is completed, the eggs may be picked up by the owner, however we ask that they are left on display for the public to enjoy and learn from. This is a great opportunity to educate the public in the great variety of egg colours and to bring interest to your favorite breeds. Business cards or other identifying cards may be placed on the entries after judging is completed. The entry fee is $2 per entry. Entries are made at the show, however, it would be appreciated if you let us know in advance if you plan to enter. You may make as many entries as you want. Come out and show off your ladies finest. This is an eggcellent advertising opportunity for increasing your egg sales and farm exposure! *Classes may be combined*.

Judging will take place Saturday during the Poultry show. Ribbons awarded for 1st in each class.
Awards of Merit at the digression of the judge.
Pigeon, turkey, guinea, emu, quail, all are welcome! Emu, Rhea and Ostrich entries are 1 to 3 eggs.
